SafeBrowse AI is a browser extension designed to help parents and administrators create a safer browsing environment by identifying and blocking potentially harmful websites and inappropriate search queries.

This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed by the extension and how that information is used.

Information We Process

SafeBrowse AI may process the following information:

• Website URLs visited by the user.
• Search query keywords entered into supported search engines.
• Parent-configured settings such as whitelist rules, blacklist rules, and blocked keyword lists.
• Website classification results returned by the configured machine learning classification service.
• Optional protection logs related to blocked websites or blocked searches.

How Information Is Used

The information is used solely for the following purposes:

• Determining whether a website should be allowed or blocked.
• Detecting potentially harmful or inappropriate search queries.
• Applying parental protection rules configured by the parent or administrator.
• Improving browsing safety and protection functionality.

Machine Learning Classification Service

When necessary, SafeBrowse AI may send website URLs to a configured classification service for safety analysis.

The current default classification service is:

https://johnwalter-url-classification-api.hf.space

Only website URLs required for classification are transmitted. The extension does not transmit passwords, form contents, messages, payment information, or other sensitive user content.

Data Storage

SafeBrowse AI stores protection settings locally within the user’s browser and/or local SafeBrowse AI desktop application.

Examples include:

• Whitelist entries
• Blacklist entries
• Blocked keyword lists
• Cached classification results
• Protection preferences

Data Sharing

SafeBrowse AI does not sell user data.

SafeBrowse AI does not transfer user data to third parties except when required to perform website safety classification through the configured classification service.

Personal Information

SafeBrowse AI does not intentionally collect:

• Names
• Addresses
• Email addresses
• Phone numbers
• Financial information
• Authentication credentials
• Personal communications
• Health information

Security

Reasonable measures are taken to protect stored configuration and protection data.
